Kai Avelar began her journey at Corazón Community Services as a Youth Ambassador, where she developed a strong foundation in community outreach and wellness. Her dedication and commitment to youth empowerment led her to her current role as a Youth Mentor, where she provides academic, emotional, and personal support to young individuals in Cicero. Passionate about fostering a safe and supportive environment, she offers guidance on personal challenges, promotes mental well-being, and encourages personal growth. Through her work, she strives to inspire and empower the next generation of leaders to reach their full potential.
A lifelong resident of Cicero, Avelar earned an associate degree from Morton College and is currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in public health. Deeply invested in the well-being of her community, she prioritizes understanding its evolving needs and contributing to its growth. She firmly believes that the youth of Cicero hold the key to a thriving future and remains committed to equipping them with the tools and resources necessary to succeed.
