Get Involved: Four Ways to make an Impact.

We at Corazón rely on the investment and engagement of a wide range of people and stakeholders to fulfill our mission in the Cicero/Berwyn community. At the heart of our mission, is the call to SERVE others. Community members can help us make an impact by serving in several roles:

  • Serve as a Volunteer - Support the local community by contributing your time and talents to Corazón’s work.

  • Serve as an Intern - Enhance your education with hands-on work experience in social services at Corazón.

  • Serve as a Corazón Board member - Provide strategic leadership and oversight and build Corazón’s financial and operational capacity.

  • Serve as an Agency Donor - Offer financial support to sustain and grow Corazón’s programs and services.

Why I Support Corazón:

“When I donate to Corazón and other non-profits, I donate without any restrictions on the funds. I want the organizations to be able to utilize the money in ways that perhaps a grant doesn’t allow for, giving them greater flexibility.

Donations are vital to this organization to advance their mission, to grow. Please know, no matter the size of your gift, you are contributing to the continued well-being of the Cicero/Berwyn community, creating a better world, and you and your gift are greatly appreciated.”

— Rachelle Zola, Donor and Former Board Member

“I could not have asked for a better opportunity to learn from Latino residents, staff, Board and contribute my talents to an organization prepared to accompany the residents of Cicero to unlimited opportunities.

The organization's abundance of attention and intention to further illuminate the individual and collective power of the residents is truly remarkable. There is no limit to what Corazón can do with the diverse and talented board and the supportive and passionate staff walking the journey of discovery with the residents of Cicero.”

— Carmen Terrones, Donor and Former Board Chairperson

“Being part of the Corazón family, first as an employee and later as a Board member, has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career.

If you are committed to the development and investment in the youth of Cicero and Berwyn, being part of the Corazón family is where that work begins.”

— Julio Daniel Diaz, Former Board Member

“I chose to volunteer at Corazón, because growing up I saw the positive impact they had on the community. I wanted the opportunity to not only contribute to such a positive organization, but also to learn more about the hard work and efforts that go on behind the scenes.

By volunteering at Corazón, you have the opportunity to know you have a direct impact on the community firsthand. I encourage anyone interested to reach out and ask for more information about it!”

— Crystal Mercado, Former Volunteer

“I chose to pursue my internship at Corazón because as current resident of Cicero, I can see the impact that the organization has brought to our community. With leaders like the ones at Corazón the youth and families have access to greater opportunities and resources at one’s convenience. In addition, the smiles and cordial greetings from everyone at Corazón really makes me feel like a part of the team and that is something that I am thankful for.

As an intern, I aspire to learn how to advocate for everyone’s rights, be a part of health service meetings, and build stronger connections with members of the community.”

— Yesica Romero, Former Social Work Intern
