Emergency Procedures

🆘 Types of Emergencies

A range of potential emergencies may occur, including but not limited to:

  • Fire (Fire extinguisher is inspected and kept in compliance; it can be found by the rear door.)

  • Flooding

  • Medical Emergencies

  • Natural Disasters

  • Security Incidents

Each situation requires specific actions to be taken to ensure the safety of all team members.

💡 Familiarize Yourself

It is essential that you take the time to familiarize yourself with the emergency exits, evacuation routes, and assembly points within our facility. Exit signs are prominently displayed throughout our premises and are inspected periodically.

🔔 Alert Systems

Our facility is equipped with various systems from Cove to notify the Cicero Police Department, our neighborhood, and our Executive Director in the event of a security emergency. These include alarms/audio alerts, and, if necessary, direct communication through Cove’s network.

🚑 Medical Emergencies

If you encounter a medical emergency, contact the designated emergency services number immediately and await the arrival of medical professionals.

📡 Communication Channels

During an emergency, communication is vital. Please rely on our established communication channels (i.e., direct communication with your teams and supervisors) for updates and instructions. We will also use these channels to convey when it is safe to resume normal activities.

💡 Reporting & Debriefing

After any emergency situation, it is imperative that all team members report to their designated assembly points and follow any further instructions. Following the resolution of the emergency, we will conduct a debriefing to review the response and identify any areas for improvement.

Your safety is our top priority. Thank you for your commitment to our collective safety and well-being!
