Vanessa Melgoza, Interim Executive Director and Director of Health Services, is a bilingual Cicero resident who serves the Cicero community she grew up in. Earning her bachelor's degree in social work at Northeastern Illinois University and her MSW from Dominican, she has contributed to her success as an HIV counselor and health educator through which she provides information and support. Another role for which Vanessa has taken responsibility has been as a member of the Cicero Community Collaborative (CCC), which is a coalition of local service providers whose mission is to enhance the quality of life for Cicero children, youth, and families by working together to improve educational outcomes, parent engagement, health, and safety.
As the co-chair of the CCC Health & Safety Committee, Vanessa is dedicated to enhancing the health and safety of children, youth, and families in Cicero. Vanessa believes in the importance of promoting an individual’s health and overall well-being. In her free time, Vanessa enjoys traveling and learning new languages.
