Mason Garcera was born and raised in Bakersfield, CA. Through his experiences working as a nursing assistant in Washington state, he saw vulnerable individuals’ psychosocial needs go unaddressed and began to question what career field would allow him to make direct impacts. Social work was the answer. As of now he is majoring in Social Work at Loyola University, pursuing a Macro Practice track.
As a second-generation American coming from a family of Filipino immigrants, he is fascinated with the intersections of culture, history, politics and economics, and is constantly seeking information about different policies, patterns, worldviews, and theories.
